Jen is Yup’ik and Siberian Yupik of Qaluyaaq (Nelson Island, Alaska) a member of Too NaaleÅ‚ Denh Nation (Manley Hot Springs Tribe) of the Bidziyhta Hut’aana (Caribou Clan). Jennifer has ancestral ties to Matera, Italy (la città sotterranea). Jen lives and works in Ts’inantu, on the traditional lands of the Kahtnuht’ana, Dena’ina in Southcentral Alaska. Born into a family of traditional healers and medicine people she was trained since childhood to be a bridge between ak’allaq cali nutarau (the old ways and the new).
Jen is the co-founder and director for Traditions in Healing; a multigenerational Alaska Native traditional healing and ethnomedicine clinic. Adjunct instructor at the University of Alaska Anchorage, Alaska Natives Studies Program teaching Contemporary Applications of Ethnomedicine. Cultural Advisor for Alaska Ethnobotany, University of Alaska Fairbanks, Kuskokwim Campus. Oral Historian for Project Jukebox, University of Alaska Fairbanks. Supported by her family and team at Traditions in Healing; Jennifer works with individuals, families, and communities to anchor awareness with practical applications to promote vitality and resilience. Facilitating traditional processes to access altered states of consciousness and sustain the transformational remembering of our connection to the luminous.

With a career in western medicine, service in the US Navy and US Public Health Service, certified training in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), and nearly a decade of intentional retreat and journey experience, Joel brings an efficient and uniquely insightful understanding of health and wellbeing. Joel holds space for personal transformation and integration with cultivated strength and compassion. Joel serves humanity by providing opportunities for those who choose to go inward, remember who we are, and find clarity about purpose. His guidance includes understanding and application of universal law, shifting perspective, practices for cultivating awareness, and blending trinity (spiritual, emotional, and physical).
